Chris Davis is a senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the Director of the Center's Advanced Study Program. In this video, Davis and SOARS Protégé and University of Virginia student, Erin Dougherty, share their experience as mentor and mentee during the summer of 2014 as part of the Center's SOARS mentorship program. As the director of NCAR's Advanced Study Program that offers graduate and postdoctoral opportunities at NCAR, and as a seasoned SOARS mentor, Davis knows a thing or two about mentorship. He sees mentorship as an important and powerful component of preparing tomorrow's workforce and positively influencing the career's of many present-day scientists along the way.
