Julia Slingo is the Met Office Chief Scientist and has responsibility for scientific research and development.  In this role, Julia is responsible for providing scientific and technical strategy, ensuring the organization adheres to good scientific and technical standards, and directing and managing research and development with the Met Office. She also represents the office, on science and technology, across government.

During a summer visit to NCAR, Professor Dame Julia Slingo shared recent successes in climate prediction and weather forecasting from the UK Met Office, as well as future prospects for partnership and collaboration.
